Sheltering the Homeless

Miriam House

Located in Norwalk, Miriam House is a transitional housing program that offers safe and stable housing to homeless women, pregnant women and their children.  Catholic Charities staff help residents identify issues that have contributed to their homelessness.  Clients receive resources and guidance to rebuild their lives and to develop the skills necessary to regain self-sufficiency and to secure stable, independent housing.

Christmas Opportunities at La Posada Family Shelter + Miriam House This Week on "Faith Alive"

This week on "Faith Alive!" Annunciation Radio Host Rodney Schuster, Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo's Executive Director welcomes Willi Meyer, Activities and Facilities Manager at La Posada Family Emergency Shelter, and Breanna Mantz, Program Coordinator Huron County Community Emergency Services and Miriam House, our transitional shelter for homeless women and their children.

Christmas needs of Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo's homeless shelters in Toledo and Norwalk are shared. Volunteers and sponsors are welcomed to help the families celebrate the season by preparing and serving meals and helping with the fun activities being planned.

In the final segment Dr. Scott Hefelfinger, Associate Professor of Theology at the Augustine Institute on the Family in Society, will discuss the challenges of families today.Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo’s hour-long program airs weekly on Tuesdays at 4 p.m. and Saturdays at 3 p.m.
