Need for Shelter, Food + Clothing Reach Record Highs!

The need for services has never been greater. Our La Posada Family Emergency Shelter in Toledo is full. Miriam House, our transitional shelter for homeless women and children in Norwalk, is full. Our crisis navigators and community emergency services case managers across the Diocese of Toledo report the need for housing assistance is at an all time high! Emergency housing is needed for the homeless, and rent assistance funds are desperately needed to prevent people from becoming homeless.

Helping Hands of St. Louis served 300 Thanksgiving meals this past week and a record 4,884 hot, freshly prepared meals last month. In the past three months, over 3,000 individuals turned to our Helping Hands Clothing Center for winter clothing and household items--an all-time record high! Moreover, the number of people relying on Helping Hands Pantry for food is up 50 percent and our HOPE Pantry in Mansfield is seeing increased numbers as well.
