Our volunteers are the lifeblood of our Catholic Charities ministries. Helping Hands of St. Louis needs new rotating groups of volunteers to help out!
Each group would be responsible for 1 day a month (or more), rotating on a monthly schedule and should consist of 6 - 8 persons for the morning shift and 2 - 4 people for the afternoon shift. Those who wish to come for the whole day are welcome too!
We are also looking for volunteers who are willing to come in as needed.
Volunteers are needed to fill the following positions:
Breakfast Servers: Only on M, W, F, from 8 a.m. - 10 a.m. Assist with serving coffee and breakfast. Wipe tables if time allows.
Jack or Jane of all Jobs: Mon - Fri, 8 a.m. - Noon (or later) Fill in for any of the jobs listed as well as assist with stocking and donations. Be available for pickups (must pass background check and have valid license and insurance). Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Climb stairs. Reach. Bend.
Salad Servers: Mon - Fri, 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Prep and set-up salad bar. Serve guests salads with the toppings and dressings they request. Must wear gloves (and have hair tied back if long). May be asked to assist with wiping trays if needed.
Bussers/Dishwashers: Mon - Fri, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Take dirty dishes to kitchen, help with loading dishwasher if needed, return cups to dining room, wipe trays, wipe tables in between guests. Refill drinks for clients if time allows.
Floor Moppers: Mon - Fri, Noon - 2 p.m. Sweep floors, wipe tables and chairs if needed, put chairs on tables, mop floors in dining room, hallway, kitchen and area by walk in cooler and freezer.
Restroom Cleaners: Mon - Fri, Noon - 2 p.m. Clean sinks, wipe walls by sinks and hand dryer, clean shower, clean toilets, wipe down doors, take out trash, let staff know if soap or TP need to be refilled, sweep and mop floors (2x a week clean office restroom).
