Stamp Out Hunger Food Drives Help Restock Catholic Charities Food Pantries

"Thank you Oregon schools, residents and mail carriers for blessing Helping Hands of St. Louis with 6,419 lbs. of much needed food items from the 2024 Letter Carrier Food Drive!" says Sue Shrewsbery, Director of Helping Hands of St. Louis. "This annual food drive is so greatly needed to re-stock our choice Food Pantry and support our onsite daily meals.

"The past couple of years the number of neighbors in need we serve in our Helping Hands Food Pantry has increased dramatically, so our food stock gets depleted quickly," Sue adds, noting this 60 percent increase is projected to be even higher this year. "Food drives like this one enable us to continue serving those who are struggling to make ends meet."

Catholic Charities HOPE Food Pantry in Mansfield, Ohio, was blessed to receive close to 3,000 pounds of food from the National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive held on May 11.

"We are extremely grateful for all of you who provided support to make this food drive event successful!" says Alesha Lee, HOPE Food Pantry Specialist in Mansfield. "Thank you for donating food and volunteering your time to help sort and box food. A special thank you to Doc Stumbo and Graham Automall for help in transporting all the food to our HOPE Pantry.

"This year, Catholic Charities is celebrating 82 years in this Mansfield community, and we are blessed each day by your kindness and generosity," Alesha adds. Our HOPE Pantry is serving all-time record high numbers of families and providing food for nearly 2,000 individuals each month.
