Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo Collects Earthquake Relief Funds for Turkey + Syria

Our prayers go out to Turkey and Syria. Two more powerful earthquakes hit the region yesterday, Feb. 21. More than a million people are homeless in Turkey alone and desperate for food and temporary shelter, suffering from the devastation wrought by the recent back-to-back earthquakes two weeks ago, the deadliest quakes to hit this region since 1939. More than 47,000 lost their lives and the death toll continues to climb. More than 100,000 buildings are destroyed.

As in past disasters, Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo is collecting and forwarding donations dollar for dollar to Catholic Relief Services for this international humanitarian relief effort.

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is helping Caritas teams respond to urgent humanitarian needs in both countries, providing evacuation and transportation services, food and safe shelter, emergency supplies, and preparing medical and mental health teams for dispatch.

Donate on our secure website, selecting Earthquake Relief Efforts Turkey + Syria as your donation designation.

Please make checks out to Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo, with a notation designating Turkey/Syria Earthquake Relief. Please mail checks to Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo, 1933 Spielbusch Ave., Toledo, OH 43604. Thank you for generously supporting those in need. #LivingtheGospel #Matthew25
