Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo is collecting and forwarding all donations for Maui disaster relief effort dollar for dollar to our sister Catholic Charities agency in Maui, Hawaii. Go to our secure website www.catholiccharitiesnwo.org noting Maui Relief as your donation designation.

The death toll now is 115 victims who were killed in the deadliest U.S. wildfire in over a century with 43 identified and their families notified, reports Dan Nakaso, Capitol Bureau chief at the Honolulu Star-Advertiser. Seven others have been identified, but their families have yet to be located or notified, Maui officials said Sunday.

Three wildfires continue but there are no active threats reports the Maui Fire Department and the fires are 85-90% contained. Nearly 3,500 acres have been destroyed, with 2,170 acres in Lahaina.

Checks made out to Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo, with a notation designating Maui Relief, can be mailed to Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo, 1933 Spielbusch Ave., Toledo, OH 43604. Thank you for compassionately supporting those in need.
