Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo Joins Catholic Charities Agencies around the Country - We Are There!

Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo is joining with Catholic Charities agencies around the country to participate in We Are There, a national awareness campaign highlighting the transformative life-giving services Catholic Charities agencies provide in their local communities.

“For 110 years, Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo has brought comfort, relief and hope to our neighbors in need across Northwest and West Central Ohio, regardless of their faith,” says Rodney Schuster, Executive Director. “Every day, we provide hope and a helping hand up to thousands of vulnerable neighbors, providing food, shelter, crisis management, emergency rent assistance, education, adult advocacy services, disaster relief and a variety of social justice ministries.”

Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo offices in Bryan, Norwalk, Mansfield, Sandusky, and Toledo serve 19 Ohio counties: Allen, Crawford, Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Hancock, Henry, Huron, Lucas, Ottawa, Paulding, Putnam, Richland, Sandusky, Seneca, Van Wert, Williams, Wood, Wyandot.

There are 168 independent Catholic Charities agencies and 3,900 service locations spread out across the United States and its five territories. Collectively, the Catholic Charities network served more than 15 million people last year and provided more than 30 million meals to those in need.  The dedicated, selfless staff of Catholic Charities agencies are aided in this work by the indispensable contributions of more than 215,000 volunteers nationwide. The services offered by each local Catholic Charities agency differ because they are tailored to the specific needs of the vulnerable members in their communities.

Catholic Charities USA, the national membership organization for Catholic Charities agencies, organized and launched the We Are There campaign to raise awareness for the work of Catholic Charities through a variety of national media outlets.

Annually, Catholic Charities serves 45,000 people of all faiths and backgrounds living in the 19 counties of the Diocese of Toledo, providing food, shelter, crisis and case management, utilities and emergency rent assistance, education, adult advocacy services, disaster relief and various social justice ministries.
