"Each child is created in the special image and likeness of God for greater things — to love and to be loved." ~ Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta
Respect Life Ministries
Catholic Charities works to create an awareness of the dignity of human life through supporting parish Respect Life groups, providing presentations on Respect Life issues, and publishing a bi-weekly Respect Life e-newsletter with local and national news and events. Staff also provide training to those interested in sidewalk ministry to women outside abortion clinics.
A number of parishes have Respect Life groups that meet regularly to pray, discuss pro-life issues and plan local events. To find a group or start one at your parish, please contact Kevin Jorrey at (419) 214-4933.
Students for Life
For information about supporting or starting up a Pro-Life Students for Life group at your church or school, please contact Students for Life Coordinator Allison Stump at 419-214-4973.
Prayer Vigils and Sidewalk Counseling
The Respect Life Office coordinates monthly prayer vigils and ongoing sidewalk counseling in front of the Toledo abortion clinic. For more information or to become involved, please contact Veronica Leguire, Sidewalk Advocate Coordinator for Catholic Charities.
The Joseph Ministry
The Zelie Ministry supports parents who have lost a child through miscarriage or stillbirth. They send care packages to grieving families, offer local and national resources and referrals, and provide support through email or phone. Contact Laura Range to request support or if interested in volunteering at 419-769-4427 or email email@example.com.
