PERRYSBURG, OH—Many thanks to Bishop Daniel E. Thomas, keynote speaker Kristan Hawkins, President of Students for Life of America, all our committee members, volunteers and generous benefactors for their support of Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo’s first ever Friends for Life fundraiser!
More than 250 members of pro-life community of Northwest Ohio gathered for an inspirational evening at the Hilton Garden Inn in Perrysburg, Ohio, to celebrate and look forward to the work yet to be accomplished to abolish abortion in our region.
Nearly $100,000 was raised to support pro-life efforts and bring on a local coordinator through Students for Life in America, who would be “specifically and solely dedicated to the mission of recruiting, training and mobilizing” pro-life groups in local schools, according to Peter Range, Director of Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo’s Office for Life & Justice.
The evening also included remarks by Bishop Daniel E. Thomas, followed by keynote speaker Kristan Hawkins, President of Students for Life of America and author of “Courageous: Students Abolishing Abortion in this Lifetime.”
Kristan, a Christian, wife, mother, author, speaker, and human rights advocate, was recruited in 2006 to launch Students for Life of America’s full-time operation. Since then, she’s built up the organization from a few dozen student groups to a coordinated national team serving more than 1,300 Students for Life chapters in all 50 states. The group seeking to abolish abortion by transforming our culture by training, and mobilizing the pro-life generation, who are the direct targets of today’s abortion industry.
