Bishop Daniel E. Thomas Honors 2018 Century Farm Awardees Sept. 19

GRAND RAPIDS, OH—All are welcome to attend a Mass, celebrated by Bishop Daniel E. Thomas, to honor families maintaining an active farm or homestead in the Diocese of Toledo for at least 100 years. An awards presentation will follow the 9 a.m. Mass on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at St. Patrick Church, 14010 South River Road (Old U.S. 24), in Grand Rapids (Providence), OH. Bishop Thomas will visit an area farm in the afternoon.

CatholiBishop Thomasc Charities is pleased to honor these 2018 Century Farm Award recipients:

  • Donna J. & Charles P. Karacson – This farm, founded in 1879, is located in Hicksville, Ohio. The owners are parishioners at Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Hicksville, OH.
  • Michael O. Turnwald – This farm, founded in 1918, is located in Fort Jennings, Ohio. The owner is a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church, Ottoville, OH.
