TOLEDO, OH—Join Bishop Daniel E. Thomas and the pro-life community of Northwest Ohio for the annual Diocese of Toledo Mass to Celebrate the Dignity of Life & Eucharistic Procession. The Mass will be held Saturday, October 6 at 9 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 4555 N. Haven Ave., Toledo, OH.
Reverand Michael Geiger, Reverand Gerald Knueven, Reverand Paul Schreiner, Reverand Anthony Coci, and Reverand Francis Speier will be concelebrants. Reverand Matt Rader will be the Master of Ceremonies. Deacon Phil Denovo will be the lead Deacon for the Mass.
Following the Mass, Bishop Thomas will lead a Eucharistic Procession to Capital Care, Toledo’s last remaining abortion facility, as participants chant the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Nicholas De La Torre will lead our music as we process to Capital Care Network of Toledo.

MANSFIELD, OH—Catholic Charities Mansfield Project Bethlehem Program offers assistance to individuals who have participated or are currently participating in our Community Emergency Services program. Individuals in our Guardianship program also benefit from Project Bethlehem. Items such as clothing, slippers, socks, robes, personal items, art supplies, etc. are always welcomed by those we serve in care facilities.
In August, staff members in Catholic Charities Mansfield office begin seeking sponsors to provide wrapped gifts, to be distributed in early to mid-December. Previous sponsors have included churches, schools, businesses, agencies and private individuals and families. As you fill out your United Way donation form this fall, please consider donating to Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo or the Catholic Club, an educational youth and child care center in downtown Toledo.
Donation forms and designation opportunities vary by county and by company. However, all forms have a write-in option where you can designate an organization to be the recipient of your United Way donations.
Since both are 501c3 non-profits, you may write in either Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo or the Catholic Club in the space designated on the bottom of the form for the agency name.

Join Msgr. Marvin Borger for a Mass & Memorial Service Celebrating the Mercy of God, on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at 6:30 p.m., at St. Rose Parish, 215 E. Front Street, Perrysburg, OH. The Mass will be concelebrated by Rev. George Wenzinger and Rev. David Kidd. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be before the Mass from 6 – 6:30 p.m.
Witness talks from those who have experienced infant loss and a Rose Procession will follow the Mass at 7:30 p.m. Fellowship will follow in St. Rose’s Church Cafeteria. All are welcome.

TOLEDO—Upwards of 40 volunteers will spend the morning at Helping Hands of St. Louis, 443 Sixth St., Toledo, OH, washing children’s feet and fitting them with new shoes and socks to get their new school year off on the right foot. Face painting, games and children’s activities will keep the youngsters occupied as they wait their turn.
“Each year we’ve provided new shoes, socks and school supplies to nearly 300 school-age children,” says Sue Shrewsbery, Director of Helping Hands of St. Louis. “We focus on East Toledo families, but no child will be turned away, if we have their size shoe.
Shrewsbery notes children must be present to be fitted for shoes. Available sizes run Toddler size 10 through Youth size 6. First come, first served.
Various area churches, service groups and businesses are volunteering and many have donated new shoes and socks. Toledo Zoo Teens and AK Tube LLC, Walbridge, are the two largest volunteer groups, with teams of eight.
This year, over 300 pairs of new shoes were purchased through Samaritan’s Feet, with money raised from friends of Helping Hands of St. Louis, local children and a church in Illinois. One group of girls raised over $1,500.
Hannah’s Socks donated new socks. School supplies + bags were donated by Buckeye Health, Herzing University, and friends of Helping Hands of St. Louis. “Books for Buddies” will be passing out new and gently used books for children.
Sixth Street will be blocked off, but the parking lot across the street is accessible. Our motto is ‘All in Christ, For Pro-Life!” says Clarissa Lapinksi, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Toledo’s Project Rachel Coordinator. “We will pray, run/walk, hear testimony, enjoy refreshments and welcome new members.”
A 5K route to run or a 1-mile walk will start at 10:30 a.m.
Attendees are asked to bring a baby item that will be donated to The Nest, a new Christian-based, free daycare center in Bowling Green, OH.

La Posada Emergency Family Shelter seeks backpacks and school supplies donations for children who are currently residing in the shelter, were La Posada house guests this past year, are currently in Permanent Supportive Housing, and families served at Helping Hands of St. Louis. Children will receive these school-year specific items at Catholic Charities 6th Annual Housing Support Picnic on Monday, August. 6.
