NORWALK – HOUSING PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo is seeking a Housing Program Coordinator for its Miriam House shelter in Norwalk, OH. The Miriam House is a transitional housing facility for women and their children. 

The Program Coordinator will provide case management for all housing programs in Huron County, and will supervise housing staff, coordinate referrals and assist the Regional Director in program planning, budget preparation and grant development. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Conducts case audits as they relate to agency policy and applicable community standards for all Housing and Emergency Services.
  • Coordinates referral, intake and service to families/individuals as outlined in agency and applicable community policies.
  • Oversees the maintenance of case records and client documentation.
  • Coordinates all housing services including supervision of housing staff and coordination of referral, assessment and case management services.
  • Involved with local, state and federal organizations that oversee, provide guidance, or develop rules and regulations that affect housing services.
  • Assists in the development of the annual program budget and develops procedures to ensure compliance with approved budget.   Supports preparation of grant applications and other development activities related to program ministries and projects.
  • Maintains and develops community collaborations and relationships; which may include parishes within the Diocese.
  • Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, Local and Agency policies and guidelines for program operations.
  • Participates in the Agency’s Quality Assurance program, attendance and participation in community events/ meetings and in Agency program and staff meetings.
  • Coordinates evaluation of program services and team performance.
  • Consults and collaborates with the Director of Public Relations-Communications on any public media event.

The successful candidate must possess, at minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Social Work, or another related field, as well as three or more years of experience in social services. Supervisory experience is preferred. Experience in the mental health/addiction services field is also desirable. Must have above average verbal/written communication skills, a working knowledge of accounting/budgeting processes and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. The position requires a caring attitude toward the poor and homeless and the ability to successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check.

NORWALK – PART-TIME RESIDENTIAL SPECIALIST

Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo seeks a Part-Time Residential Specialist for its Miriam House shelter in Norwalk, OH. The Miriam House is a transitional housing facility for women and their children. 

The Part-Time Residential Specialist will assist the Senior Residential Specialist in all functions and operations of the facility. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: intake of information for individuals requesting shelter; maintenance of daily staff logs and progress notes; assisting residents with finding supportive services/resources; serving as liaison between residents and other shelter staff; providing assistance and direction to residents in such areas as preparing meals and completing household chores.

Applicant must be able to handle confidential information and be willing to carry out the Code of Ethics of Catholic Charities USA ensuring that the dignity, rights and standard of service is protected for all shelter guests. Applicant must have a high school degree or equivalent and must be able to work independently with minimal direction. Must be available to work weekends and holidays. Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to relate and provide direction to a diverse population. The successful applicant must pass the required BCI/FBI background check prior to employment.

TOLEDO – CONTINGENT & PART-TIME RESIDENTIAL SPECIALISTS

Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo is seeking contingent and part-time Residential Specialists to work at La Posada, our 24-hour emergency family shelter in Toledo. These staff members will prepare meals for residents, assist the senior residential specialist and program coordinator, maintain daily staff logs, provide assistance and direction to residents, and ensure all rooms are ready for occupancy.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, excellent communication skills, and the ability to relate to and provide direction to a diverse population. These positions will work on any shift, and weekend work may be required. Candidates must successfully pass BCI/FBI background checks.
