TOLEDO – DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo seeks a Director of Finance. With a yearly operating budget of $4 million, largely from contributions and government funding, the agency seeks an experienced candidate who will be responsible for compliance and oversight of all financial matters relevant to the agency. The successful candidate will be responsible for all budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, agency-wide payroll and coordination of all employee benefits. The Finance Director will report directly to the Executive Director and Operations Director.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Maintaining general ledger and separating programs and funding sources through review of agency’s chart of accounts;
  • Overseeing agency-wide accounts, payables/receivables, agency investments and reserve accounts, bank deposits, withdrawals. Reconciling of checking and banking accounts, while ensuring internal accounting controls;
  • Providing payroll information to the payroll provider and monitoring/reviewing all related reports, including coordination of agency 403(b) thrift plan and administering and assuring timely filing of all appropriate reports for employee compensation and benefit plans;
  • Supervising financial department staff;
  • Performing balance sheet and grant fund reconciliation on a monthly basis and overseeing preparation of annual audit schedules.

Qualifications:

  • Four-year Accounting Degree with five years of management/accounting/business experience;
  • Must be experienced in maintaining computerized accounting ledgers and proficient in the use of spreadsheets;
  • Must be able to handle confidential information per agency policy;
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, be able to supervise accounting staff;
  • Must be able to communicate information to those outside the accounting field;
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision;
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook;
  • Must be able to pass a BCI/FBI background check;
  • Familiarity with SAGE accounting software a plus.

TOLEDO – LA POSADA CASE MANAGER

Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo is seeking a full-time Case Manager for its La Posada Family Shelter. The Case Manager provides intake, ongoing case management and aftercare follow-up to families enrolled in the shelter program. 

The successful candidate should have at least an Associate’s Degree and five (5) years’ experience working in social services. Experience working with the homeless population in a shelter environment is preferred. The candidate must be able to work with diverse groups of people, have knowledge of community resources, have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a BCI/FBI background check.

MANSFIELD – COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR

Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo is seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator for the Mansfield location. The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for community emergency services provided in Mansfield – Richland County and is responsible for assisting the Regional Director in program planning, budget preparation, grant development and reporting, the internal coordination of program services, and the collaboration with other community agencies and organizations.   Coordinates special projects and participates in activities to address community-wide issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting individuals with securing and maintaining gainful employment, utilizing coaching/counseling tools, towards improved performance. 
  • Working with local employers and community partners to expand opportunities for individuals.
  • Conducts case audits, as they relate to agency policy and applicable community standards for all housing and emergency services.
  • Coordinates referral, intake and service to families/individuals, as outlined in agency and applicable community policies.
  • Oversees the maintenance of case records and client documentation.
  • Coordinates all housing services, including supervision of housing staff and coordination of referral, assessment and case management services.
  • Involved with local, state and federal organizations that oversee, provide guidance and develop rules and regulations that affect housing services.
  • Assists in the development of the annual program budget and develops procedures to ensure compliance with the approved budget.   Supports preparation of grant applications and other development activities, related to program ministries and projects.
  • Maintains and develops community collaborations and relationships, which may include parishes within the Diocese.
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with current and future funding sources.
  • Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, Local and Agency policies and guidelines for program operations.
  • Participates in the Agency’s quality assurance program.
  • Attendance and participation in community events/meetings and in Agency program and staff meetings.
  • Coordinates evaluation of program services and team performance.
  • Coordinates the daily activity of program staff and provides regular case supervision and consultation.  Provides supervision, training and guidance to program staff and volunteers and is involved with the hiring process and orientation of new staff and volunteers.
  • Promotes systems change through legislative and other advocacy activities.

A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work/ Business Administration is highly preferred. The candidate must also be able to work with diverse groups of people, have knowledge of community resources, have a valid driver’s license and successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check. NORWALK – ADULT ADVOCACY STAFF GUARDIAN

Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo is seeking a full-time Staff Guardian who will work in the Adult Advocacy Service ministry in our Norwalk office. This position will assist in all program areas, including volunteer recruitment, training, monitoring and providing direct service to wards.

Applicant must have experience working with the elderly and disabled population as well as having experience in a nursing home facility. Experience in the mental health/addiction services field is required. In addition, applicant must have knowledge of the court system. 

The successful candidate will be able to answer community questions regarding issues related to the elderly, and must have excellent written and verbal skills. The successful applicant must possess, at minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, or another related field, as well as three or more years of experience in social services. Supervisory experience is preferred. Applicant must: (1) maintain a valid driver’s license; (2) successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check upon hiring, and every five years thereafter; and (3) be willing to become a Registered Guardian.

NORWALK – PART-TIME CASE AIDE

Catholic Charities Toledo seeks a Part-Time Case Aide for its Norwalk, Ohio office. The Part-Time Case Aide works with Adult Advocacy program staff to provide services to clients. 

Duties include: offering administrative support, including preparing and proofreading documents; responding to inquiries regarding details of the program; and performing general clerical duties. This part-time position is 24 hours per week. 

A High School degree or equivalent, with three years of general office experience, is required. Candidates must be skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience with PowerPoint is a plus.

TOLEDO – PART-TIME RESIDENTIAL SPECIALISTS

Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo is seeking part-time Residential Specialists to work at La Posada, our 24-hour emergency family shelter in Toledo. These staff members will prepare meals for residents, assist the senior residential specialist and program coordinator, maintain daily staff logs, provide assistance and direction to residents, and ensure all rooms are ready for occupancy.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, excellent communication skills, and the ability to relate to and provide direction to a diverse population. These positions will work on any shift, and weekend work may be required. Candidates must successfully pass BCI/FBI background checks.
