DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Toledo seeks a confident, outgoing, enthusiastic initiative-taker with experience in fundraising for the position of Development Director.

This is a critical role that requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and a drive for results is key for this position along with strong empathy, a genuine interest in others, and the ability to build meaningful relationships. Success in this role requires strategic thinking along with the ability to see projects through to completion.

The Director will be responsible for agency fundraising, planned giving, major gift solicitations, donor prospecting, and special events. The Director will be adept at connecting with individuals and groups, and diligent in follow-up.

Working closely with the Executive Director and the Board, the Development Director’s duties will include:

  • Planning and coordinating all fundraising activities
  • Working on the design and implementation of a comprehensive development plan
  • Maintaining progress reports on fundraising goals
  • Preparing the departmental budget
  • Working with the grants committee to research, identify and develop new funding sources
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with current and potential donors
  • Working with staff, committees and consultants to prepare for special events

The successful candidate must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the area of Business, Development, or other related field
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a senior development Fundraising with a faith-based social service agency is preferred
  • Fluent and advanced oral and written communication skills
  • A thorough working knowledge of development techniques such as annual giving, donor cultivation and foundation solicitation
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) a working knowledge of fundraising software and a general knowledge of principles of accounting
  • A sincere commitment to the mission of Catholic Charities and the ability to communicate the reasons for that commitment to others
  • Must successfully pass the required BCl/FBI background check prior to employment and every five years

SANDUSKY PART-TIME CASE MANAGER

Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo seeks a Part-Time Case Manager for its Sandusky location. This position provides Crisis Navigation services to the greater Sandusky area.

The Crisis Navigator responds to inquiries for assistance and conducts individual assessments. This person provides assistance to help navigate the other services and resources available, both through Catholic Charities and other agencies. The Crisis Navigator works with the individual to develop action plans to address their situation, provide linkage to services, and conduct follow up with the individual. The Crisis Navigator also conducts financial literacy workshops and 1-1 budget counseling for individuals. The Crisis Navigator works closely with the Furniture Ministry Coordinator to ensure services provided by the Furniture Ministry are run efficiently to meet the needs of the community.

Knowledge of area resources is crucial for this position. Microsoft Word and ability to maintain data and statistics as required by funding agencies and Catholic Charities is necessary. Previous knowledge or experience working in a social service setting or other related field is required. The candidate must also be able to work with diverse groups of people, have knowledge of community resources, have a valid driver’s license and successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check.

SANDUSKY PART-TIME FURNITURE MINISTRY COORDINATOR

Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo seeks a Part-Time Furniture Ministry Coordinator for its Sandusky location. This position is responsible for the daily operation of the Furniture Ministry and works with the Sandusky Crisis Navigator to meet the needs of clients seeking furniture in the greater Sandusky area.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to: scheduling furniture pick-ups and deliveries; assisting with furniture pick-ups and deliveries; management of record-keeping for the furniture ministry; training of volunteers; ensuring maintenance and cleanliness of furniture storage area; and inventory management.

This position requires the routine lifting and moving of items up to 50 lbs. The successful candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel & Access. Must have good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure. The candidate must also be able to work with diverse groups of people, have a valid driver’s license and successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check.

MANSFIELD PART-TIME CASE AIDE ADULT ADVOCACY SERVICES

Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo seeks a Part-Time Case Aide for its Mansfield, Office. The Part-Time Case Aide works with the staff of the Adult Advocacy Services program to provide services to clients.

Duties include: offering administrative support, including the preparation and proofreading of documents; responding to inquiries regarding the details of the program; and performing general clerical duties. This part-time position is 24 hours per week.

A High School degree or equivalent, with three years of general office experience, is required. Candidates must be skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience with PowerPoint is a plus. A successful candidate must be able to pass a fingerprinting BCI/FBI background screening.

TOLEDO PART-TIME ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

The Accounting Assistant will work with the Finance Department for 20-24 hours per week, assisting with a variety of tasks, including: making journal entries into accounting software; grant documentation; organizing records and working on accounts payable and purchase order coding corrections.

The successful candidate will be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and have excellent organizational skills. MIP software experience a plus, but not required. Associate’s Degree in Accounting plus two years of experience preferred. Must be able to pass a fingerprinting BCI/FBI background screening.

NORWALK PART-TIME RESIDENTIAL SPECIALIST

Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo seeks a Part-Time Residential Specialist at the Miriam House in Norwalk, Ohio. The Miriam House is a transitional housing program for women and children. The Residential Specialist will assist the Senior Residential Specialist and Case Manager in all functions of programming for the residents and operations of the facility. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: receiving and greeting visitors; answering phones; maintaining daily staff logs; providing assistance and direction to residents; maintaining house and premises; and assuring all rooms are ready for occupancy.

Applicant must be a high school graduate with good communication skills and the ability to relate and provide direction to a diverse population. Weekend and Holiday work is required. Candidates must successfully pass BCI/FBI background checks.

TOLEDO PART-TIME RESIDENTIAL SPECIALISTS

Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo is seeking part-time Residential Specialists to work at La Posada, our 24-hour emergency family shelter in Toledo. These staff members will prepare meals for residents, assist the senior residential specialist and program coordinator, maintain daily staff logs, provide assistance and direction to residents, and ensure all rooms are ready for occupancy.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, excellent communication skills, and the ability to relate to and provide direction to a diverse population. These positions will work on any shift, and weekend work may be required. Candidates must successfully pass BCI/FBI background checks.
