SANDUSKY – FULL-TIME PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Catholic Charities – Diocese of Toledo is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator to oversee and manage the Sandusky Catholic Charities office by providing oversight of all ministries in Erie County.

Duties include: Provide leadership to ministry personnel. Contribute to ministry planning, budgeting, and goal setting. Provide input for grant applications and reporting of ministry functions. Participate in community forums, workshops, and meetings affecting ministry services. Perform administrative duties in managing office staff and provide management to all Sandusky staff and volunteers. Prepare reports for funding sources and agency administration. Oversee and maintain data, statistics, and other pertinent records of donations received and people served.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the area of Business or Social Work preferred, and/or sufficient, related work experience. Three years of relevant work experience, with supervisory experience preferred. Maintain a current driver’s license, with ability to travel within the Diocese of Toledo; proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; must successfully pass background check.

NORWALK – FULL-TIME STAFF GUARDIAN

Catholic Charities – Diocese of Toledo is seeking a full-time Staff Guardian to serve as an advocate for court-appointed wards in our Norwalk Regional Office.

Duties include: Act in the best interest of the ward by using discretion and independent judgment when making decisions and exercising specific rights. Adhere to the requirements of the Ohio Revised Code and Ohio Superintendence Rule 66, as administered by the Probate Court. Address issues and arrange for interventions related to health care, psychological functioning, financial affairs, family relationships, and living arrangements for the ward.

Candidate must have high school degree or GED, with 3 years of experience in social services environment preferred; ability to be bonded if acting as a Guardian of the Estate, where mandated by the Probate Court; experience working with and advocacy for elderly and impaired populations is desired; willingness to make a long-term commitment to serve individual wards; maintain a current driver’s license, with ability to travel within the Diocese of Toledo; proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; ability to work flexible hours (some evening and weekend hours may be necessary); must successfully pass background check.

TOLEDO – AGENCY MINISTRY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR VISTA

Expanding Catholic Charities’ outreach through communications is the primary goal of this program. VISTA communications associate will, in coordination with supervisor; Measure deficiencies in our current communications, pinpoint digital marketing strategies to fill those gaps, customize broader communications messages to be used in traditional and new media, and evaluate progress on strategies as an ongoing activity.. And have fun doing it! Based on these activities, VISTA will be able to identify, in coordination with the supervisor, areas of communications where Catholic Charities may be deficient, and propose and implement at least two activities to reduce or eliminate the deficiencies. Interact with case workers and other staff in Sandusky, Norwalk, and Mansfield Ohio to garner interesting and moving stories about the people we serve and their successes moving out of poverty so as to disseminate stories to both a broad and individual target markets to maximize exposure. This VISTA position is a part of Catholic Charities USA’s Family Strengthening Program, a national intermediary project. As a member, you will meet virtually with VISTA Leaders and other VISTAs serving throughout the country, all focused on alleviating poverty. Communication activities by VISTA will extend the flow of information about our ministries to more people, thus allowing the potential to serve more while increasing philanthropic efforts.

NORWALK – PART-TIME RESIDENTIAL SPECIALIST

Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo is seeking a part-time Residential Specialist for Miriam House, our transitional housing facility for women and their children located in Norwalk, OH.

Duties include: Respond to the needs of our residents, providing customer-friendly service; ensure that our residents follow house policies and procedures, maintain their daily schedules. Maintain solid lines of communication, including operational issues, with the Team & Program Coordinator.

Qualifications: Candidate must have high school degree or GED; be available to work weekends and some holidays; demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to relate and provide direction to a diverse population; must be able to exercise considerable independence and judgment with minimal direction; at least 1 year of relevant work experience in a social services environment is preferred; must have and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications or be in the process of attaining; must successfully pass background check; must be able to handle confidential information and be willing to carry out the Code of Ethics of Catholic Charities USA ensuring that the dignity, rights, and standard of service is protected for all shelter guests.

TOLEDO – PART-TIME RESIDENTIAL SPECIALIST

Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo is seeking a part-time Residential Specialist for La Posada, our 24-hour Emergency Family Shelter in Toledo.

Duties include: preparing meals for residents, assisting the program coordinator, maintaining daily staff logs, providing assistance and direction to residents, and ensuring all rooms are ready for occupancy.

Qualifications: Candidate must have excellent communication skills and the ability to relate and provide direction to a diverse population. Candidate must have a high school degree or equivalent and successfully pass BCI/FBI background check.
