A Message from our Executive Director

Rodney Schuster

Dear Friends,

“Today too, amid so much darkness, we need to see the light of hope and to be men and women who bring hope to others.” — Pope Francis

Being men and women who bring hope to others—that’s the mission behind what we do here at Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo. So many of our the individuals we serve come from experiences of darkness—the loss of job, an illness, a breakdown in their family structure. Many face homelessness and hunger.

At Catholic Charities, our work of hope is about more than just giving those in need a roof over their head or food to eat. It’s about helping people become self-sustaining and realize God’s will for them. Life transformation is our goal.

On our ministries’ pages, you will find Stories of Hope. I encourage you to check them out to learn more about the work of Catholic Charities across Northwest and West Central Ohio.

I also invite you to join us in bringing hope to others through prayer, volunteering or financial support. Your help can make an impact in the lives of so many!

May God bless you,

Rodney Schuster

“A friend told me about La Posada. I came and I was surprised because it doesn’t look like a shelter. It looks just like a home. I was so glad when they told me we could stay. They’ve been so good to me. Honestly, none of this would be happening if I hadn’t been here. They’ve helped me so much.” – Marquita, La Posada resident

Our Mission

Catholic Charities makes real the love God has for each individual regardless of faith or background, by serving the poor, speaking for and assisting the neglected and forgotten, respecting and promoting life from beginning to end, and nurturing and supporting individuals and families.
