TOLEDO, OH—Your donations to Helping Hands of St. Louis in East Toledo makes the holidays brighter for many who may be homeless or finding it tough to put food on their table.
“We are in need of boneless or spiral cut hams for our annual Christmas Meal and the 100 Christmas Baskets being prepared this year for families in need,” says Susan Shrewsbery, Director of Helping Hands.
“Donations of instant mashed potatoes, stuffing mixes, gravy, canned sweet potatoes, onions, canned fruit, butter, eggs, oil, dessert mixes (cake, brownies, cheesecake), apples and oranges are needed for the baskets.”
Our Helping Hands Food Pantry also welcomes donations of canned meats, soups, canned fruit, mac and cheese and cereal (no Cheerios or cornflakes, please.)
Prepared desserts and large #10 cans of corn, green beans and fruit cocktail are needed for the traditional Christmas Meal, this year served on Tuesday, Dec. 21, from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Helping Hands of St. Louis, 443 Sixth Street, Toledo, OH. Volunteers are needed to serve salads and drinks and to bring desserts.
