‘It’s in the Bag’ Fundraiser to Help Norwalk Area Homeless Women and Their Children

MARCH 10, 2015—NORWALK—Catholic Charities invites the community to the Fourth Annual It’s in the Bag to benefit Miriam House, a transitional housing program for homeless women and their children. The event will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, at St. Paul’s Social Hall, 30 Milan Ave., Norwalk, Ohio.

Purse-themed cakes made by local bakers will be judged by attendees and sold through a live auction. New and gently used designer and other purses will be filled with items and sold through a silent auction.

Miriam House provides long-term transitional housing and stability to homeless women and their children. Staff help residents to connect with services, find employment and build positive relationships as residents prepare to live independently.

“It’s a low spot in your life, and Miriam House is there to raise you back up and get you on the right track,” said Angela, a former resident.

Event tickets are $15 and may be purchased at Catholic Charities’ office at 34 Woodlawn Ave., Norwalk, between 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information, please contact Catholic Charities’ Housing Program Coordinator Roxanne Sandles at 419-668-3073, ext. 107 or rsandles@toledodiocese.org.
