Bishop Thomas to Speak at 40 Days for Life Mid-Point Prayer Vigil
MARCH 2, 2015—TOLEDO—Bishop Daniel E. Thomas will speak at a prayer vigil hosted by Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo to mark the mid-point of the 40 Days for Life campaign. The campaign is being held from February 18 to March 29 as individuals sign up to pray and fast for an end to abortion. The prayer vigil will be from 6 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, in the Rosary Cathedral School Gymnasium, 2535 Collingwood Blvd., Toledo, Ohio.
During the vigil, Clarissa Lapinski will share her testimony about her own abortion and why she now supports ending abortion. Lapinski, 37, is a mother of five children and had an abortion over 20 years ago at the age of 16. After years of suffering from symptoms of Post Abortion Stress Disorder, she found hope and healing through a Christian based post-abortive recovery program. PASD symptoms include grief, anxiety, hopelessness, regret, anger and flashbacks. She currently helps post-abortive women through the recovery process.
The local 40 Days for Life campaign is being hosted locally by Catholic Charities in solidarity with an international movement, which began in 2007. Since the beginning of the international movement, 3,336 campaigns have been hosted in 559 cities in 27 countries with 650,000 participants, according to the 40 Days for Life website.
